Last night was a typical birthday celebration in the Gupta/ Voleti/ Pareek household. A family dinner topped off with various options of cake. Since it was Priya's birthday, her cake of choice is (and always has been) cookie cake. To try and "surprise" her with the cake (she's known we would get one for months, since that's all she's been asking for), Vinny kept coming up with excuses on why there would be no cake after dinner.
The joke of the night became, "Oh, didn't you hear?" followed by...
- There is a huge cookie shortage in the region.
- Mrs. Fields got drunk.
- The area is out of chocolate chips.
- Mrs. Fields, she ::insert smoking action here::
And my favorite...
- Mrs. Fields ran off with Mr. Subb.
Totally awesome. In the end, she got her cookie cake, and we all got to enjoy singing with my parents over Skype. :-) Pictures below... and yes, all those cupcakes and cookie cake were just for the four of us. As Vinny would say, we're all "fat bastards." :-)
